The rest of the story - Charleston

First things first. A huge Thank you to the Allens! They went down with us to Charleston for the long weekend and watched the kids for us while S and I ran the Cooper River Bridge Run.

We appreciate you guys and had fun hanging out all weekend.

Z learned how to climb out of his pack and play while we were there!

I hear he might be heading to a big boy bed real soon! Might not be bad timing....especially considering his momma is 20 weeks pregnant expecting his little sister in August.

He is little robot....and gave us a play by play of the entire weekend! When he climbed out of his pack and play he repeated, "Get out", "get out", "get out". He is such a cutie!

I immediately fell in love with Charleston.

Such charm, and history, and the cobblestone roads are amazing. I wish I would have stayed longer in this alley to capture the perfect picture....but this is as good as we got.

In fact, I didnt get good shots of Charleston and its history.

I find I prefer taking pics of my family.

I haven't figured out how to shoot scenery...really, momma needs a new lens...but you don't want to hear all about that. Charleston has amazing historic sites, buildings built in the 1700s, architecture, lovely OLD oaks...which you can somewhat see in the background here.

We had one nice day where the kids got to play on the beach. Gabe liked playing in the sand but didnt like it when the COLD water touched his feet.

And the water was COLD!!! Allie got in waist deep in her dress with her new friend from Hunstville, AL (where S and I grew up). I couldnt believe we were in Charleston befriending a family from Huntsville. Small world out there.

Allie playing on a cannon at Fort Moultrie. Shortly after this picture, I noticed a sign "Do not play on cannons". Oops.

We had a fantastic first trip to Charleston! I have a feeling we will be back next year to improve our 10K time!
