Play Ball

Well it's certainly reassuring to know my two blog followers are still with me. Thank you mom and mom-in-law for your comments.

The real story of where I have been is.....I got a week break from all mom duties and went on a beach getaway with my girlfriends from college. While I missed the kids like crazy, it was nice to read a book (and actually finish it in 5 days) and not have to take someone to the bathroom every 3 minutes. We had a great time catching up, but I was ready to get home to my family.

There you have it. My confession. I feel better now.

Being with the grands for one full week...the kids were rotten once they got home. Soooo, we decided to continue the spoilage by taking them to the Hickory Crawdads game Friday night to see the fireworks.

G LOVED everything about the game. Allie was coming down with a virus (we didn't know it at the time)...so she was extra quiet and didn't engage in the game.

They let the kids run the bases around the 5th inning. G was a trooper and did it, but I think he was a little confused why we were running. He kept asking me (as we are rounding the bases), "time to go home"?

The evening was going great until the ball incident.

Basically you throw a tennis ball over the foul ball net behind home plate trying to get it in a bucket. The net is maybe 15 feet high. G didn't understand why I took his ball and threw it.

It was a fun evening, I understand fireworks are on the schedule again for this Friday. Guess we're heading back to the ballpark.

Might I suggest you take a tennis ball from home that G can keep when you go Friday night? Play Ball!

We go to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers games sometimes and it is a lot of fun. It is a nice evening out that is not too expensive. Your pictures are terrific.

Sorry Bethany that we didn't comment sooner, but we are still here too. Emily said she misses Allie is sending her something in the mail to help her feel better. It does look like you had a fun night at the game.
