Something I learned over this last week is how I am loving the fact that our children are 3 and 5 and can a) sleep peacfully all night long, b) can feed themselves, and c) show independence.
We spent the last nine days relaxing on beautiful Marco Island, FL.
We invited 2 couple friends of ours along for the journey. Between the 6 adults there were 6 children; ages 5, 4, 3, 3, 18 months, and 10 months (yes we are crazy!). We were the couple with the oldest (combined) age of our children. It is clear that our kids are officially at the age where they aren't so demanding of us....and it was awesome!
As I sat at the pool 3 years ago with a two week old newborn (I was so desperate to get out of the house and feel normal again), I remember looking over at our neighbor with pure envy, who reading a magazine while her kids played nearby in the pool. As I sat there crying holding my crying child, I remember her saying, "you'll be here soon".
We're there!!!! And it feels mighty nice to have a 3 and 5 year old.

Haha! They grow up way too fast. I remind myself of that everyday. Isabella keeps calling her Ayee
I have a 6 and almost 3 yr old as you know but I somehow don't get to sit and read a book at the pool yet.. you are blessed! Miss ya!
Think that we have another 3 years now :) Enjoy an extra magazine for me!!
This is the reason why, although I would love another babe, I am very content with what I've got. A childs independence is a beautiful thing for their mama! ; )
