Happy Memorial Day

Swimming with the family. Surely, nobody had as much fun as we did.

Memorial Day Weekend

Here....a picture of me. And don't tell me I look cute, because I know its a lie! I am big...almost 33 weeks big. I keep telling myself, "only 5-6 more weeks".

Allie playing with a frog. She was timid at first touching the frog....

...but then she wanted to go outside and hold the frog.

Sitting in her new car watching "Annie" with Pop.

Whoever knew a $5 bubble blower would be so much fun.

Baby update

We had another ultrasound this morning at my dr. appt. to get a better look at the size of the baby. Stephen was a 10# baby and we are well on our way to having one of our own. The baby is in the 92nd percentile, its abdomen is measuring 3 weeks ahead of schedule, and the baby weighs 5 lbs. Now, with that said, overall I am only meausring 1 1/2 weeks ahead of schedule. My dr. said she just wants to continue monitoring the baby's size. We have another ultrasound in 4 weeks. At that point, we should have a better idea if we are going to be able to attempt a VBAC....or if the baby is already too big we will probably have a scheduled C-section 1 week before my due date (meaning around July 8th). For those of you who don't know.....during the next 8 weeks a typical baby will double in size in the womb. That puts us right at the 10 lb. mark! Yikes! As for me, I am doing good. I tire easily and am getting pretty uncomfortable with my achy back and feet. But I am hanging in there. I am just ready for this baby to be here.

Getting ready for baby

We took a much needed trip to Babys-R-Us yesterday and stocked up on stuff for the baby. It was fun picking out everything....diapers, small bottles, sleep positioner, tub, monitors, pacifiers, bottle sterilizer bags, etc.... I am feeling better about the baby's arrival now.

We do have a set of monitors, but decided to keep them in Allie's room for the time being. She has been potty trained for awhile now, but we were still letting her sleep in pull-ups. No more! We took them away about a week ago and she has been wearing panties to bed. So, she wakes up about once a night right now needing to go potty. Plus, she hasn't discovered that she can get out of bed on her own, open the door and get up when she pleases. And I definitely don't want to encourage her to do that. So, for now, the monitors stay.

We have our ultrasound dr. appt. tomorrow. I am excited to see the baby again and ask my dr. what she is thinking about delivery. I will update tomorrow after the appt. Only 8 weeks are officially left...but I'm really hoping to have the baby a little early.

Allie and daddy

Last night Allie was reading books and singing songs to Stephen when we were tucking her in. She is really becoming a daddy's girl lately....which couldn't come at a more perfect time. I am really working on not holding her as often as I had been. She keeps telling me that when the baby comes, "mommy hold baby and daddy hold Allie". The two of them are taking a solo trip to the zoo tomorrow too. I think it will be good for them to spend the time together without mommy. Look how sweet they are?!

And here is Allie singing "Tomorrow" from the movie "Annie" to daddy. She gets a little distracted in the middle of it when Izzy joins the fun. Annie is one of her favorite movies. She knows everybodys names and all of the songs! She cracks us up when she really gets into the songs and holds on to the high notes. I'll try and get that on video next time...

Yard of the month

I think these pics of Allie after her bath are cute.

Congratulations to the Patton household.....we had the "yard of the month" in our neighborhood. Nice job babe (Stephen keeps our outside looking spiffy). Unless someone else volunteers to judge besides me....it's looking like we will be awarded the yard of the month next month too!

Pickin' Strawberries

We went to pick strawberries this morning with our mommy group. Allie had a good time, but wasn't much help. Somebody should have warned me how strenuous picking strawberries can be for a pregnant woman. I know I'm going to be sore tomorrow from bending and squatting. Nothing like timing too....we were standing in the middle of the strawberry patch (do you call them patches?), and Allie had to go potty. So she had her first experience with the porta-john.

I think she was a bit confused when we first arrived...
