Who are these kids????

Pop sent these disguise glasses to the kids in the mail this week, and they have been having a blast "disguising" themselves while calling various family members on skype.

This gives me a good idea of what to expect of G's looks in the future. I think the nose is dead on!

One step forward, two steps back

Oh my.

Potty training G isn't fun.

He is doing well. Really. I put his undies on this morning and he told me when he had to go...and he went. To the gym and back he did awesome. No accidents and he went for me at the Y as we were leaving. The child has eaten his weight in gumballs the past 3 days.

Then we get home and he has 2 accidents. UGH! One which spread all down his leg while I pulled his pants off. Sorry if I'm grossing you out...I won't get my feelings hurt if you quit reading.

I know its a process, and a hard one for kids to conquer. Equally so for us parents! This is hard!

Good news is G is our last kid. I'm just gonna suck it up for the next few weeks and know once this is behind me, we are done potty training for-ev-er!

To look or not to look?

My brother in law came for a visit.

Fun fact for ya....he's a model! Well, he used to be. I admit his portfolio is quite impressive. Unfortunately his short dabble with modeling began and ended with robo-pong. I wish those photos were still on the web. They made our very own Uncle C look like a ping pong pro.

Anywho...we love us some Uncle Chris.

I like to treat Uncle Chris like he is my 2nd blood brother. (See Ben, you aren't the only one I pester).

Uncle Chris and I differ on....a few things in life.

One being these photos above that I took of him. To look or not to look? In his brief venture with modeling he learned to avoid looking directly into the lens. In the first photo he was looking right above my camera. I'm okay with that...some of the time. But, I like a good lens stare too.

Whatdya think?

PT Day 2

184 copy

Thank you for all the encouragement and advice on G's potty training. I appreciate all of your comments!

I wanted to let you all know day 2 is going equally as well as day 1.

G did his business this morning in the potty a couple of times before we left the house.

I just miiiight be crazy, but I braved the odds and took G out this morning for 5 hours in undies. HE DID IT! No accidents and he was going out in public like an old pro.

Now, I've got to get him used to NOT completely undressing in public when he needs to go. This is wearing me, and the knees in my jeans, out!!!

Let the fun begin

216 copy

It seems we are potty training. Not by my choice....but Gabe's choice.

We put on some big boy blue racecar undies last night and let him run around the house. No accidents.

This morning when he woke he brought the undies down with his slew of animals and blankets. So, I put them back on him.

Notice his hand full of gumballs in the photo? I am overly happy to report that so far today, G has gone #1 thrice AND #2 once(d)!!!!!!

I did put a diaper on him while we went to the gym this morning...but it was dry when we got back home and the undies went right back on.

So proud of our big boy.

On my to do list this afternoon - Pull-ups, cooshie tooshie, step stool, and waterproof matress cover.

I gotta go with this and not look back. As much as I'm not ready.....G is ready. Now, sit or stand???? I'm so confused.

This was the scene after the children's square dance tonight at Sims Country BBQ barn.

A circle had formed and Stephen tore out in the middle of the dance floor with this freestyle.

The audience roared. Seriously. They loved him.

Allie's song

135 copy

Our bedtime routine with the kids consists of a book (or two or three depending on the length), a song (or two or three....), and a prayer.

Recently, Allie has discovered the art of song writing. She sang me this song the other night (yes I had pen and paper in hand to document it).

It goes a little something like this, in the sweetest little girl voice you can imagine:

"When it's glowing and everybody comes out to play.
They will go where the mermaids live.

When the sun goes down, fireflies come out.
Go to bed and close your eyes, go to sleep, with your fluffy pillow.

Stars are glowing and everyone goes to bed.

Before its dark we play wrestle with our daddy. Mommy and daddy tuck me in and
mommy snuggles."
