Wash and wax

Tonight the kids and I decided to wash the car...

IMG_0827 copy

...Or should I say, I washed the car, while the kids played in the bucket of wash and wax water.

This counts for their bath tonight right? I think so too. They will be extra shiny tomorrow for when their daddy gets home.

G wasn't too fond of his sister squirtting him with cold water during his....bath.

But, in the end, G got his retaliation. Allie will learn soon that baby Gabe isn't a baby anymore.

G

IMG_0712 copy

I was just talking with some girlfriends of mine today how much we think G resembles his daddy.

I don't know if its the electric blue eyes (for the record, I did nothing to enhance the color of this boy's eyes....they just pop when he wears blue). I dont know if its his nose, or ears, or hairline...but everytime I look into his baby blue eyes, I see his daddy.

Check out my mother-in-law's "Popocorn Memories" post. There is a pic of Stephen and his brother circa 1980ish. http://www.susanpatton.blogspot.com/

Maybe its just me, but G reminds me so much of his daddy!

Resolve and Crayola

Today, I'm thankful for Resolve Carpet Cleaner and Crayola for making washable crayons.

Pretty sure a potential house buyer would NOT want the name "Allie" written on their carpets.

I guess that's what I get for trusting my 4 year old with crayons in her room.

Lesson learned.

The gumball

Our favorite Mexican restaraunt boasts a gumball machine conviently located right by the front door...you see it first coming in and it's the last thing you see going out.

Every time we pass this restaraunt Gabe starts the begging, "Ball, ball, ball, ball". And most days, he gets a gumball as we leave.

But not today....today was different. G decided to not eat and save his appetite for the little gumball he knew would follow lunch.

We knew it was only a matter of time before we would be dragging a screaming child back to the car.

He had to watch his sister gracefully put her quarter into the gumball machine, turn the wheel, and collect her prize for eating a good lunch.

This is when G lost it.

Stephen carried him to the car as he kicked and screamed, "BaaaaaaAAAAAALL, BaaaaAAAAALL, BaaaAAAAAAAAAALL!"

This is the part of the story that melts me!!!!! Allie didn't eat her gumball. She looks at me and said, "Momma, when Gabe gets up from his nap, can I give him my gumball....he really wants one".

What a kind heart this little girl has! She gave the gumball to him as soon as he woke up.

Happy kids...and proud parents.

Miss G - 1 year

I had the pleasure photographing miss G again. This time her brother and sister tagged along and jumped in a few pics.

Here are some of my favorites.

Naked Bum

IMG_0201 copy

There is a game that somehow came into existance in our house called "naked bum".

This was started by A, and continued by G.

Monkey see, monkey do.

IMG_0171 copy

It involves one squeeky clean wet baby...

...and a parent chasing a naked bum through the house.

First Greenville Friend

markwells 032 copysepia

Miss E!

This was Allie's very first friend when we moved to Greenville 3 1/2 years ago.

Her momma picked me up on the playground with the pick up line, "I love your haircut".

She went on to lend me a whopping dollar to ride the train around the pond with them.

Insta friendship.

The poor girls were too little to have a say so and we threw them together and made them get along.

Miss K came along 14 months ago and reminds me SO much of her older sister E. And let me just say, I have NEVER seen a 14 month old swim like this one. The child wears swimmies and knows how to kick around in the pool. She also has no fear and jumps in face first.

...

Since that park playdate, we have gotten together many times over dinner, girls' night outs, and playdates.

These are the kind of friends it is so hard to say goodbye to!

Thank you guys for your friendship!

Thank you S for picking me up on the playground that day....

And...I wasn't just saying "come visit"....I expect you to!!!!!!
