Sarah

I consider myself an intravert. My friends my tell you otherwise, but that is only because they know me and I can relax and be myself around them. I didn't expect to find those types of friends after moving to a new area. Thanks Sarah for your friendship. I look forward to many wonderful years of getting to know each other even better. On a side note, she is 13 weeks pregnant. Doesn't she look amazing!!!

Weekend guests

Gabe is getting good at holding his neck up while on tummy time.

Chris and Jennifer came for a visit this weekend (for those of you who don't know us personally, they are my brother and sister in law). They have been married a little over a year and do not have children. Needless to say, it was comical watching Chris handle Gabe.

Meet Uncle Jody. Jody isn't family, but should be. We love him and were happy that he decided to come for a visit. Allie LOVED Jody, and they played and played together. Yes, my child has on her halloween costume...FROM LAST YEAR! The little shirt is a 18 mo. onesie that was not snapped under her skirt.

Allie and Aunt Jen Jen. Allie was running her fingers through Jennifers hair and said "Your hair is pretty". How sweet!

Don't even get me started with Axis and Allies. We begged them to not drag it out...it is SO boring and takes forever. Poor Gabe, being forced to watch.

Unbelievable!!!!

I just wanted to brag on Gabe this morning.....who slept from 9:30 p.m. to 7:20 a.m. I woke up around 6:00 and had to go check on him. Sweet little boy was sleeping peacefully. 10 hours straight...Unbelievable.

Thumb sucker

As I've mentioned before, it looks like we have a thumb sucker. Stephen and I both sucked our thumbs, so we aren't surprised one bit when Gabe found his. Cute now, but I know I will be changing my opinion when he's still sucking it in kindergarten.

Sick Allie update

Doctors are funny....I should be one....it seems I am well qualified. All you have to do is say "there is a virus going around". Allie's diagnosis - a virus. She is working hard to breathe, has a nasty cough, wheezing, and has a fever. Besides being extra clingy today, she really has been okay. At the dr. she sat up on the table and gave herself the breathing treatment while I bounced a fussy Gabe. Then tonight when we gave her another one she just sat in my lap like she was an old pro. In addition to the breathing treatments, which we will be doing until this passes every 4-6 hours, I am giving her benedryl. It knocked her out today around 4 and she slept for an hour. She is pitiful. Please say a little prayer that she gets better soon....

One of those days...

It started with Allie walking into our room this morning at 5:30 am. She was coughing and wheezing. I gave her benedryl and sent her back to bed. Gabe woke up at 6:30 ready to eat. I tried to nap on the couch after feeding Gabe, but was unsuccessful. The real treat began once Allie woke for the day. She is so crabby when she gets sick, and very clingy to me. Days like these are the ones where I want to wiggle my nose and have my mother-in-law or mom magically appear. Gabe is not sick, but for some reason, is extra needy today. It is now 12:50 and both kids are asleep, BUT I get to wake them both up to load up in the car in 15 minutes to take Allie to the doctor. I'm not looking forward to Allie's mood after I wake her from her nap....we've learned she can be extra crabby if she doesn't get her nap out. In the middle of my needy kids, I have been trying to clean the house because we have company coming in tonight. It's just been one of those days.....

How to hold a ladder 101

You've got to understand my father-in-law. He thrives on being busy. He will pace around the house thinking of projects to tackle. He and Stephen decided they could paint our foyer (our ceiling has to be close to 30'). This is just another fine example of Doug lending a helping hand on one of his projects. Thanks Doug!

Let's not forget a previous visit where Doug helped Stephen hang sconces.
