Pull-up Toy

By request (here you go Jodi)....a new video of Gabe. When did he get so BIG!!!!???? He is really showing interest in pulling up on things...but unsuccessfully. He usually ends up on his belly kicking his legs. He wants so badly to be on the move. With a little help from me, Gabe did pretty well hanging on to his pull-up toy Santa brought.

I love you little man!

Kids Dr. Appts.

Allie's 3 year old well visit:

36 1/4 inches (30th percentile)
27 1/2 lbs. (25th percentile)

Everything checked out great. My only concern with Allie is that she has started stuttering. Its not all the time and its not just certain words. But sometimes the words just will not come out and she gets so frustrated. The other day she was trying to ask me "Where are we going?"....instead it came out "Wh-wh-wh-wh....going." I knew what she meant, but I tried to encourage her to try to ask again saying all of the words. Another example, "Momma, can I loo-loo-loo-loo out the window?" Again, tried to encourage her to get the word out, but she instead substituted the word "watch" instead of "look". And, she has always said "t's" for "c's" (example for car she says tar, because is betause, and if the word starts with "t" she substitutes with the letter "p". Example: "crying" is "prying"). So, we are going to take her to see a speech therapist so they can evaluate her.

Also, Allie she is addicted to apple juice out of her Dora straw cups. I am very well aware that these need to be taken away from her and she drinks her fair share of the juice along with mine, Stephen's and everyone else in our neighborhood. So, starting today she will get one 6 oz. serving of juice in the morning. Other than that it is water. I'm hoping by putting water in her Dora cups that she will not want them as much and it will be easier to take them away completely.

Gabe's 6 month well visit:

26 inches (35th percentile)
15 lbs. 13 oz. (25th percentile)

We'll start by addressing the tremors. (About once a week Gabe will start shaking while eating a bottle and if he is overly tired) I showed Dr. Godwin the video I had taken of Gabe having a tremor episode and she wasn't concerned with it. She said it was not a seizure and some babies do this and it may be his way of soothing himself. She said some kids hit their heads lightly against walls when they are tired. Anyway...I feel much better hearing that. Also, a friend of ours' son did this same thing. They took him to a neurologist who dismissed it saying it was a benign tremor and he will grow out of it.

Gabe got 3 shots and 1 oral rota virus something...so I expect the next few days to be filled with lots of fussiness!

Gabe 6 months

Gabe and I had a little photo shoot while Allie was napping today. At least one of my kids cooperates when the camera comes out!

; ) Love this!

A staged crib shot.

Sittin' pretty. He started sitting up by himself at 5 1/2 months. He is beginning to try and pull up now. He will also be in the sitting position and get himself on his knees and rock a little. He'll be on the move before we know it!!

Allie's 3rd Birthday

We started the day off at Monkey Joes. This is the only picture I took...

For dinner, she picked chuck e. cheese.

Then home to have cake and ice cream........only problem was that our dog decided to help herself. This is what the cake looked like when we returned home. Allie didn't even get to see the dino at her best. We were going to have the big reveal with candles and singing.

Sorry sweetie. Thanks for understanding we have a horrible dog! (Still free for the taking!!!)

"Happy Birthday to You"....

She hasn't quite mastered the art of blowing. She blew through her teeth.

Gabe taking baby steps toward Sarah. He is getting so big!

As usual...all smiles!

Gabe's first word (it counts to me!)

Happy 3rd Birthday Allie

Happy 3rd birthday Allie (on 1-3-09). Allie has been saying for the last couple of months that on her birthday she wanted a happy orange dinosaur cake. Only the best for our little girl. Her daddy and I put on our creative hats tonight and began piecing together her custom made birthday cake. I have to say, if you look at it from a distance, its "dino-mite". Okay, I had to go there. The pictures are all out of order; but Allie helped me this afternoon bake the two 9" round cakes, and Stephen helped tonight bring this animal to life.

Quail Poppers

It isn't everyday that you have the opportunity to eat quail. However, if you ever have extra quail meat in your fridge or freezer, I have a recipe for you (courtesy of Rob).

Step 1: Clean up the quail.

Step 2: Filet the breast.

Step 3: Soak the quail for 15 minutes in Moores Marinade.

Step 4: Wrap marinated quail around pepperjack cheese.

Step 5: Wrap bacon around quail and cheese using toothpick to hold all of the goodness together (wrap bacon around so the cheese cannot ooze out while grilling).

Step 6: Grill poppers approximately 20-25 minutes.

Step 7: Pop and enjoy. These are lip smackin' good!!!!!
