Trip to AL

Bear with me. Below are quite a few pics from last week I have been meaning to share with you all. The kids and I were in AL for the week while Stephen was in ATL for meetings.

Music City 1/2 Marathon

Congratulations to my dad, Phyllis, Rex, Zach, Crystal, Becca, and Tracy for completing the Nashville 1/2 marathon this past weekend. I am so proud of you all. I am especially proud of my dad, who I understand, was the leader of the pack keeping the pace for the walkers this year. Next year, count me in.

At the 10K mark, dad was going strong.

Spring Cleaning

As I've mentioned before, Gabe is a little explorer. I have baby-proofed our upstairs and will gate off the stairs and let Gabe roam about freely going from room to room. I caught him in his sister's room the other day rearranging her drawers.


Busted.

He got bored and moved on to the trash can.

He LOVES pulling my hair. I get now why all moms chop off their hair. It can't be short enough for these little grabbers.

Can't leave out Miss Allie. I feel a little guilty always posting a boat load of pictures of Gabe and none of Allie. She makes it such a challenge to take her picture, I usually give up.

Allie's backyard campout

Stephen promised Allie he would take her camping in the backyard once the weather got warm. Since winter, she has been opening our back door and sticking her arm out to check to see if it was warm enough to camp. Spring is here bringing warmer weather and Allie has not let us forget she is ready to camp.

Pitching the tent. Yes, they actually slept in it (on an air mattress)....until midnight when Stephen talked Allie into going inside for the night.

Our favorite part of the night was definitely making smores over the fire.

Little Guy

Gabe had his 9 month well check-up today. He is a little guy. 17.7 lbs (10th percentile). 27.5 height (25th percentile). The dr. said she is not worried about his weight because he is at an active phase in his babyhood (did I just made up that word?). We only feed him pureed baby foods in situations where there is no high chair to feed him in. Otherwise, he eats our table food, or mac and cheese, peas, carrots, diced apples, pears, bananas, turkey sticks, potatoes, cheese, etc... He is working on cutting his top teeth. Speed crawls everywhere. Discovered the steps. Waves and says "bye bye". Pulls up on anything and walks around hanging on to those items. Sleeping great...goes down at 8:30 and wakes at 7:00. Takes 2 naps a day; 10:00 - 12:00 and 2:30-4:30. Gabe is still the most content and happy baby. He constantly smiles and loves playing and exploring on his own. He is doing GREAT and we are loving every minute of him! Stephen and I keep saying how we wish he could stay this age forever. He is such a joy and we couldn't love him more!

Let's go fly a kite

We've been so busy lately. Lots of company and travelling, and lots of pictures I need to post. I wanted to start with some from tonight.

This is becoming Allie's signature smile.

The two of them were very entertaining trying to get a kite to fly in little to no wind.

If you know Stephen at all, you know he is a very determined and driven person. He was going to get this kite up if it took him all night trying. Here he is in attempt #?????? with a running start.

Ahhhh...success.

Allie wanted to fly the kite so badly. (Notice the string pointing downward....Stephen had a hold of the other end).

"Where are the party hats"

Last night we decided to get in the interior, under the stairs, hall closet while the tornado warning passed over our house. We were trying to make it somewhat fun and told Allie we were going to have a party in the closet. We all gathered safe and snug and Allie asked, "Where are the party hats"?

We took the kids to Portrait Innovations to get a nice shot of the two of them in their new Easter outfits. They both were horrible! This is the ONLY pic the girl snapped of them together. Pretty sure I heard sighs and clapping when the door hit us on the way out.
