....at the old ballgame....

blog3

The Crawdads are baaaaaack, and we loaded up the kids to support them on opening weekend.

The kids are "Claw Club Members" this year. Basically this means they have a ticket to every home game, a handful of free parent tix, and a few special perks seen below.

Miss A was the "paint the plate kid". This was right up her alley with her being so crafty; but she was a little confused why they didn't let her paint it rainbow colors.

G was "play ball kid", and after the national anthem was suppose to yell "play ball" in the mic. We have a video of this. He looked right down at the microphone, opened his mouth, looked up, and FROZE! The words did eventually come out of his mouth but it was a group effort.

This was the scene minutes before G had the microphone shoved in his face. I crouched there taking pics and watched S flip little G over with a little much momentum. He landed right smack on his back and the tears began to flow. S just smiled and shrugged.

Behind the wheel

Untitled

Allie makes me stop in my tracks daily, and as I watch and observe her the flashbacks start pouring in - like this for example.

I am amazed by how much she reminds me of myself.

Amazed!

I can still remember sitting in my dad's lap steering the car crazily through our neighborhood streets. What great memories and now I get to experience it all over again with my own kid.

Untitled

This is one of those sibling moments our kids will smile on one day.

G is a trooper.

He tolerates all things GIRL, from having his sister put clips all in his hair to getting blue sparkly pedicures.

I know this will change soon...but for now, we just make him a part of our girlish activities.

Behind the Lens

There is a feeling of security being behind the lens. I know it all too much. I like it now, but already regret the fact that down the road there will only be a handful of photos of myself with my family.

This changed a few weeks back when my mother-in-law rolled into town with her Nikon. We were playing a game of "tackle volleyball" (a Patton original) with the kids in the playroom. I snagged the kids, pulled them in tight, and asked S to snap a quick pic. I will cherish it forever along with the sweet pic of my husband and I outside during intermission of our family baseball game.

Thank you S for these photos.

This is a great reminder why I am a photographer - to freeze pieces of life, so that one day when we look back on them, we can remember who we were.

Greenville, SC Wedding: Brian & Carly

I do's were recently exchanged between this sweet couple and I was lucky to be a part of their special day.

It was a challenge to weed through thousands of wedding photos and share only a few with you, but below is a little taste of their big day.

Harvesting lettuce

It turns out our thumbs aren't so green after all.

We decided we would be gardeners this year and try our hand at growing squash, watermelon, cucumber, tomato, lettuce/spinach, etc...

Our seedlings took off growing at rapid speeds. We were amazed and patting ourselves on the back for a job well done. Then when we transplanted the seedlings and every last one of them withered away to nothing.

That's okay. It was a learning experience after all. After our seedlings died we bought larger established tomato plants, blackberry bushes, blueberry bushes, and strawberries.

Lucky for us, lettuce and spinach are fairly easy to grow, even for our not so green thumbs.

Catching you up

Untitled

The in-laws arrived today. This little gem of an outfit was purchased on their latest cruise to the Carribean. This outfit brought me to tears when we tried it on this afternoon. I really have no words for it. No words!

Another sure sign of grands in the house. "A Yard of Bubblegum".

AL2

Last week we were in AL visiting my folks. I got a little impromptu call from the in-laws who were passing through AL in route to TN to visit thier other son. We all met up for lunch at Greenbriar. It was a fun family reunion.

In addition to spending time with my folks and G'ma last week, we got to soak up lots of Uncle B time! The kids LOVE him. So do I.

AL5

Nevermind my nasty feet and bunions...it's pedicure time! My first one of the season came compliments of my six year old daughter. Not bad - the pedicure. Feet are bad.

AL4

This was G on our weekly grocery run. He constantly has his "snugnuts" on his head. I wish he would never grow out of this...unfortunately, I have not figured out how to freeze time.

AL3

This I found on the kitchen island this week. Brought a big ole smile to my face.
