The "Gamer"

blog1

It was only a matter of time before our "all boy" boy discovered the world of gaming. He has a new nickname. Our "gamer".

The kids were gifted with a Wii for Christmas (thanks to a set of grands). Our particular Wii system came with Mario Bros, and it sat unwrapped with the Wii box for the first few months while the kids enjoyed playing other games (namely Toys Story and Barbie).

The old school game was eventually opened and G was instantly hooked.

Pretty sure he dreams Mario. We have witnessed him warping from room to room and he will pretend like his dies when things hit him and falls on the floor.

This past Sunday, G took a late afternoon nap and we needed to wake him. I openend his room door, came downstairs, turned up Mario bros. and loudly say, "Sure wish I had someone to play Luigi". Within seconds I hear, "What did you say mom"?

This all takes me back to my childhood. I've enjoyed rediscovering the land of Mario with him. Okay, I've enjoyed it WAY too much. Okay, I admit, I'm the gamer.

Tangled

blog

Allie's hair has reached record length.

She refuses to get it cut, and claims she wants to grow her hair out like Repunzel. I did manage to talk her into an inch trim a couple of months back.

Repunzel? I think she's got the "Tangled" part down!

Hiding G

It's at least a twice a week activity in our household: hide and seek in the dark (Well, at least partially dark. There are a FEW lamps left on for those a bit cautious in the dark.)

We have found that our family "hide and seek" games have turned more into "where is the best spot to hide Gabe" game.

A few to top my best spots for Gabe list are:

1. Sitting in a large copper bucket covered with blankets. The bucket normally houses a few throw blankets so G is perfectly disguied (as long as he chooses to keep still and quiet)

2. Hiding under large euro shams in our guest bedroom.

3. Tucked away nice and neat under cabinets where any normal size person couldn't contort.

But none of my spots have come close to the bar that S has set.

Only my 6'2" husband can safely hoist G up to the top of closets. But now this secret spot has been discovered, hmmmm....what will we think of next?

Stay tuned....

Wednesday in the Park

Now I have Chicago's "Saturday in the Park" stuck in my head. I do love those Chicago boys.

My car made an unplanned visit to the park today after we picked Allie up from school. It was simply too beautiful outside to not get out and enjoy it.

Here are a few images from our gorgeous afternoon in the park thanks to hipstamatic.

Date night

blog3

Last weekend was the annual princess date night at the YMCA. (I tried to scan the photo of the two of them they had taken at the dance, but I decided to give up before I drop kicked my printer).

S and A lasted an entire 60 minutes this year. A told us that she does not like to dance in front of people, and I think she was feeling a bit uncomfortable.

I hear, however, that her daddy had no hesitation hitting the dance floor for the chicken dance.

S didn't sport this new bowtie that I talked him into purchasing, but doesn't he look dapper!!! I love it and plan on heading back to Stein Mart to find a couple more in different colors (the above one is purple).

This afternoon the kids went over to our neighbor's house. They stayed longer than normal and I eventually headed that way making sure they weren't tearing apart Ms. M's house.

I find Allie playing checkers and G curled up in Ms. M's lap....he had fallen asleep in her lap watching golf.
