Enjoying Spring

The weather has been beautiful lately and we been taking advantage of it. Allie got this sandbox last year and she still loves playing in it.

La la land.
Helping daddy wash the car....Stephen would get the car all rinsed off and Allie would take a soapy sponge and run it all around the car.

She especially enjoys anything dealing with water.

Saying "cheese". I always thought when you say cheese you smile in the process....not Allie. She looks like she is yelling at somebody.

26 weeks

I've had requests to see pictures of my belly. Here I am at 26 weeks. Enjoy, because before too long, I will refuse to post of pic of myself. The other day the baby and I were playing.....I would push in on my belly and I will feel a thump. Then I would move my hand and push in on another area on my belly and the baby would thump where I just pushed. I still think its a boy in there!

Allie's Atlanta Weekend

This past weekend was designated as Allie's weekend. Stephen had a great idea to do a weekend getaway with her before the new baby arrives. We have this book at home, "500 Places to Take Your Kids Before They Grow Up". 2 of the destinations in it are Stone Mountain, and Zoo Atlanta. So, we headed off to Atlanta to take Allie to these places. The 3 posts below are pics from our weekend. 2 down, only 498 more to go before she grows up!

Atlanta Zoo

We visited the zoo Sunday before heading home. If you have never been to the Atlanta zoo, I recommend it. Great zoo...they have a lot of animals and the grounds were very well kept with lots of foilage.

Daddy and Allie checking out the zebras...(in the very back).

Mommy and Allie cheesing in front of the pandas.

Of course, one of Allie's favorite parts (besides the roaring Lions) was the petting zoo. They had brushes the kids put on their hands to brush the sheep, goats and pigs. She was a bit timid at first, but then got into it.

Allie and daddy watching the goats eat lunch.

For some reason, Allie cried the whole time on the carousel. She later told me she cried because she wanted to "do something else, see lions roar". There was also a train you could ride around the zoo, but we missed that as well, because she was crying. (I do need to explain at this point, it was 2:30 pm....she usually goes down for her afternoon nap around 12:30-1:30). We left shortly after this picture.

Stone Mountain - 25th Anniversary Lasershow Spectacular

Stone Mountain was my favorite part of our Atlanta weekend. It had rained ALL day Saturday and we were afraid we were'nt going to be able to do the laser light show, but it stopped raining just in time. Allie was amazed when the laser lights and fireworks began. Her face was worth every penny of the parking fee to enter the park. Her little jaw dropped open as she watched the laser light canopy above our heads and saw the fireworks in the air (this was her first time to see fireworks). She did great even though it was passed her bedtime. I definitely recommend doing this!

Just before the show began.....

Imagine It Museum

Our first stop once we arrived in Atlanta was "Imagine It" children's museum. Overpriced, and very crowded, but Allie seemed to enjoy it.

This was Allie's favorite part. She got to fish for magnetic fish with her magnetic fishing pole. They had rain jackets for the kids to wear so they wouldn't get soaked...but Allie didn't want to put hers on.

Right when you walked in the museum, there was this huge, ongoing ball thing. Balls everywhere with different kinds of ways balls were pushed through this contraption. This tractor that Allie is sitting on would transport the balls from Point A to Point B.

This was a sandbox full of little rubber peices and they had flowers and shovels where you could dig and plant.

Allie playing in "moon sand". It is a lot like sand, but sticks together better.

I had to add a picture of this guy.....he was the storyteller and read a book to the kids. I have never enjoyed listening to a book like I did this one. He was into it with lots of voice inflections, beating on the drum, etc....

Peanut Butter Pie

I had to post a pic of the peanut butter pies I baked yesterday. I am not a cook....but they turned out very tasty! Thanks Phyllis Watson for sharing such a delicious recipe with me!
