Sweet Allie

Allie before church on Sunday. (She picked out her shoes).
Allie loves to torment dogs. This is Henna, Stephen's parents dog. You can't really see it in the picture, but Henna is also wearing a princess crown that Allie put on her head.

Stephen's parents are here visiting from Florida. They have been a huge help around the house! This is just one example of how much we will miss their help....Doug helping Stephen hang a sconce on the wall.

Steve's updated mustache...this is the longest it has ever been.

Allie's new haircut

We took Allie tonight to get her first real haircut.  She has had a "trim" before, but this time we cut a good 2 inches off and it looks adorable!  We had to go ahead and bribe her with the sucker, but once she got it, she did pretty good sitting in my lap getting her hair cut.
Checking out her new do......she doesn't look too pleased.
I had to come up with creative ways to get her to look straight....she was looking at my eye brow in this picture.....
She loves to get her hair dried.
The finished product!  I LOVE IT!

The Penny

I have discovered I need to know more about CPR and the heimlich for children. Allie got choked on a penny today! She was just standing there with this scared look on her face....making this gag noise. I didnt know what to do and tried to feel in her throat for something (I didnt know at the time what it was). Then I proceeded to smack her hard on her back over and over...she was still choking. Finally, she gagged it up. I haven't heard her cry like she did in a long time, it really scared her. But, it scared me more...I was shaking. Needless to say, I have been researching tonight what to do if it happens again.

Counting...

The video is dark, but you can still hear Allie counting. She has the sweetest little voice.

Just being a 2 year old...

She climbs up in the pantry often picking out things to eat. She is standing on Izzy's dog food, which she is starting to fill her dog bowl by herself when the bowl is empty. Nice!
I was trying to do some laundry today, when Allie decided to get in on the fun....

When we leave the house Allie gives Izzy a treat (2 to be exact, everything is in 2s). So Allie had the 2 treats in her hands and she was snapping at Izzy telling her to get "up"...and pointing to the couch. She makes us laugh....but also keeps us on our toes. The pics are just a couple examples of keeping up with a busy 2 year old.

Allie's list for Santa

1. Cookies
2. Peppers (pepper mints), but she calls them peppers.
3. 2 toys (not 1 or many...but 2)

Stephen and I braved the crowds and took Allie to Toys R Us yesterday (Saturday) for her to pick out some toys for Santa to bring her. The only toy she wanted to play with was a toy train that was set up on a table. She played with that train the whole time we were there....SO, she is getting one for Christmas. Well, I say the whole time we were there....once she realized Santa was sitting right across the way, she was reay to go.

Have It

We were at the gym the other day and there was a little 5 week old baby there. The little baby was sleeping in her carrier and Allie looked at her and said, "Hab it (have it)". Then she said "Hold you". She wanted to have the baby and hold her. I thought that was precious. I asked her if she wanted a baby like that at home with her and she said yeah. I ask her daily if she wants a brother or a sister and she is pretty consistent with wanting a brother right now.

Gingerbread cookies

Yummy icing!
Helping daddy stir the cookie mix.

Decorating the cookies.
I know they look pathetic....but that icing was hard to work with. This is the group shot of the cookies before Izzy helped herself to a few.

We made Gingerbread cookies with Allie tonight. She had a great time getting her hands dirty, but an even better time eating the icing. Stephen was pouring it into her mouth like easy cheese. Probably not the smartest thing to load her up on sugar before bed....but there are some things in life you just need to let loose and enjoy the moment. We also had a fun time with her today trying to catch resee peices in the air in our mouths. Allie would throw one up and open her mouth and the candy would land feet away from her.

As for me and this pregnancy....I have been pretty nauseous and tired! For dinner tonight, it was a plain baked potato with ketchup. It's different this time around, I feel bad, but I can't let it stop me because I have a very active 2 year old to keep up with. We are almost 9 weeks....and I am counting down the days until we are through the first trimester!

Allie peed on Santa

Our happy family...Allie is actually starting to smile and say "cheese" for pictures now.
Maw maw, Allie and myself after Allie's Christmas pics. We just left her Santa suit on because it was cold outside.
Pop and Allie...."Cheeese".
This is our new chair in our den. I love it.
Click on this pic to enlarge....Santa's face is priceless....I think Allie must have just peed on him.
She was thrilled! It looks like she is trying to bite Santa's thumb.

Allie made history yesterday. She peed on Santa. We took her to the mall to sit in Santa's lap. We watied about 1 1/2 hr., and Allie was really into him while we were in line. We kept her out of the line, and let her stand close where she could get a good look at him and watch him interact with the other kiddos. But, as soon as it was turn, she changed her mind. We sat her in Santa's lap anyway....and it literally scared the pee out of her. I feel bad about it, but Santa was the sweetest Santa ever!!! He told us he had an extra set of pants.

My parents have been up visiting since Tuesday. We have been so busy. They helped (they actually did most all of it) paint our den and kitchen. Thanks mom and dad for all of your help! We also went up to the outlet malls to Christmas shop, which was a lot of fun. Another day we took Allie to get Christmas pictures made for our Christmas cards. She wore a Santa suit and looked adorable. Time always flys when they are here. Before we know it, Christmas will be here!!!

Christmas is Here!!!

I LOVE this time of year. It makes me so incredibly happy to just listen to Christmas music (I try to year round, but I get in trouble). Tonight we met our friends (Chris, Sarah and their little girl Elizabeth) downtown Greenville. We had dinner and then walked outside to watch the Christmas parade. It was so "small town" feeling, with the local high school marching bands, churches, radio station floats, etc... It was so much fun. Allie loved watching everything from Stephen's shoulders. I kept watching her and she was clapping, bouncing, and waving. Good times. Also, last night we decorated our Christmas tree. It was a lot of fun. Allie tried her best to help, but of course, she mainly got in the way. She understood to put the ornaments on the tree...but then she wanted to take them off again. Notice the pic ofher helping string the lights....she did have on panties before she had a potty accident.

Allie has discovered her imagination. She started this game a few weeks ago...and I think it is too cute. She has this imaginary peice of fuzz or something that she calls a "bee"....and she pulls the bee from underneath her chin. Then she'll pretend like she throws it to you, and you have to catch it and either throw it back, put it on your nose, blow it in the air, eat it, throw it out the window of the car, etc....She could play with "the bee" for hours.
